BLOXHAM, a parish in the hundred of BLOXHAM, county of OXFORD, 4 miles (S.W. by S.) from Banbury, containing, with the chapelry of Milcombe, 1520 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Oxford, rated in the king's books at £17. 9. 4., endowed with £205 private benefaction, and £200 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the Provost and Fellows of Eton College. The church is dedicated to St. Mary. There is a place of worship for Baptists.
