Clifton Hampden, Oxfordshire


CLIFTON-HAMPDEN, a parish in the hundred of DORCHESTER, county of OXFORD, 3¼ miles (E.S.E.) from Abingdon, containing 277 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the jurisdiction of the peculiar court of Dorchester, endowed with £666 private benefaction, £200 royal bounty, and £2100 parliamentary grant, and in the patronage of Miss Noyes. The church is dedicated to St. Michael.
