Elsfield, Oxfordshire

ELSFIELD, a parish in the hundred of BULLINGTON, county of OXFORD, 3¼ miles (N.E. by N.) from Oxford, containing 188 inhabitants. The living is a vicarage, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Oxford, rated in the king's books at £6. 8. 1½., and endowed with £200 royal bounty. The Earl of Guildford was patron in 1804. The church is dedicated to St. Thomas à Becket.
